SeeSaw

SeeSaw is an app that allows teachers to assign work for students to complete digitally: type, draw, record their voice, add photos, etc.

In today's training we will explore:

STudents: How to login (K-3)

Open SeeSaw app or go to https://web.seesaw.me/

Select "I am a student"

Scan the class QR code.


4th grade students will be prompted to log in with @townschool accounts.

Students: How to find assignments

Click on the activities button (with the lightbulb)

All available lessons appear on the left.

Click "Add response" to open the worksheet following the teachers' instructions.

Select their name from the roster to get started.

How to assign an activity

Click on the green (+) button.

Click "Assign Activity"

Choose!

1. Make a new activity.

2. Select from one of your past activities (great for reusable worksheets)

3. Browse the Community Library.

Library

Browse & search by grade and/or topic, idea, etc.

NEw Activity

You can upload a photo, drawing, video, file, notes, and links.

(p.s. screenshots of existing worksheet are great!)

Add instructions

Starter instructions: (copy and paste this!)

Tap the :add: button.

Tap the :label: or :drawing: tool to share your response to the worksheet.

Tap :check: to add to your journal.

Edit Assignments

You can re-use templates created in previous assignments and update them.

Students can type, draw, add photos, add voice over, change color, resize, and more!

Checking assignments

As a teacher, see all the work that students have submitted.

You can even create skill categories and rate assignments on a 5-point star scale.

Seesaw Icon Shortcuts

Type these shortcuts into your instructions for these helpful icons.

NAming assignments

Please name your assignments with your subject (topic) and assignment number. This will help student keep track of which assignments to prioritize.

Example: "STEM #1 - Scientific Sketch of a Plant"

Schedule your assignments

Select a time and date for your assignments to appear. This will help students locate your assignment within the assignment feed.

The most recent assignments get posted at the top, so older assignments get pushed down to the bottom.
